Christina moved to Victoria in January 2011 from Toronto, Ontario, searching for a West Coast lifestyle. She fell in love with the beauty of the city and loves spending time outdoors.
When not managing Dr. Rankin’s clinic, Christina trains in martial arts, focusing on Brazilian jiu-jitsu and muay thai boxing. She’s also an avid reader and enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes.
After several years of dental administration and management roles, Christina joined Dr. Rankin’s office summer of 2012, which was a happy reunion after working together in the past.
Her education includes a specialized honors degree in psychology and a degree in education. She is delighted to be part of Dr. Rankin’s team, working closely with her valued patients and contributing to the well-being of the practice.
With a specialized honors Degree in Psychology, a Degree in Education, and several years of experience working in various dental offices, I have developed a passion for working in a team enviornment while supporting others and maintaing a sense of accountability and responsbility for myself.
The importance of social contact and personable connections and the need for clear communication is imperative in the management, administrative and business side of dentistry. My career in dentistry has been quite a rewarding experience for me, allowing me the opportunity to fully utilize my educational background and apply my knowledge of human development and behaviour to my daily tasks and interactions with people.
My experience with teaching in the education system in combination with my background in customer service has encouraged me to focus on remaining genuine, understanding, and attentive to patient needs or concerns. My goal is to contribute to the overall patient care in Dr. Rankin’s office by helping to create an environment that is supportive, informative and positive. I am excited to see where the future takes me within dentistry, always embracing my experiences as positive and an opportunity for growth.

Carrie was born in Vancouver and raised in Coquitlam. Vancouver Island has been her home since 1995, living in Nanaimo, Victoria and Campbell River. After a few attempts at returning to the Mainland, she realized Island life was for her.
Prior to her career in dentistry, Carrie spent 18 years working and managing in the restaurant industry, in both Vancouver and Victoria. She loves everything to do with food, but leaves cooking to her partner, a chef here Victoria. She spent three years at Camosun College studying general sciences, before switching to the Dental Hygiene Program.
Carrie spent two years working at a large dental practice in Campbell River that also serviced patients from the surrounding Discovery Islands and many small North Island communities. She worked closely with three different dentists, as well as a periodontist, and had the privilege of observing multiple periodontal therapies: sinus lifts, soft tissue grafting, and implant surgeries; as well as assisting the periodontist with delivering local anesthetic.
Carrie and her partner moved back to Victoria to be closer to friends and family. Their son, Levi, was born May 17, 2013. As a family, they love to eat, listen to music, and to be outdoors doing almost anything — skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, and camping are all favorite activities. Levi had his first camping trip when he was just six weeks old, and to this day only sleeps through the night when he is in a tent.
Carrie is both excited and honored to work with Dr. Anna Rankin’s team and look forward to meeting and working with you all this next year.
